Srinagar, Apr 30: Real Kashmir FC delivered a strong performance to beat Gokulam Kerala FC 3 to 0 in a relegation stage match of the Indian Football League in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The Srinagar side looked composed and sharp as they secured their third straight win, strengthening their position in the standings. The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when pressure inside the box forced a defender to turn the ball into his own net.
Real Kashmir kept pushing forward and doubled the lead early in the second half. A set piece created confusion in the Gokulam defence. The ball fell kindly to Shedrack Charles, who finished from close range with ease.
Minutes later, Mohammad Inam sealed the result with a smart effort. He intercepted a loose throw from the goalkeeper near midfield and calmly chipped the ball into an empty net from distance. The goal reflected both awareness and confidence.
Gokulam Kerala had started brightly and created early chances. Rahul Raju came close with a volley that went wide. Habib Fofana also made a crucial clearance to deny a clear scoring chance. Despite these efforts, they failed to convert opportunities.
Their task became harder just before halftime when Bouba Aminou received a second yellow card for a reckless challenge. Reduced to ten men, Gokulam struggled to maintain balance in attack and defence.
Even with a numerical disadvantage, they tried to respond. N Shigil tested the goalkeeper with a long range strike, but the effort was saved. The rebound did not trouble the defence.
Real Kashmir controlled the tempo in the final phase. They focused on possession and avoided unnecessary risks. Their defence stayed compact and denied any serious threat.
With this win, Real Kashmir climbed higher in the relegation table with 11 points.
